St Germain’s pioneering liqueur is made from hand-harvested elderflower blossoms gathered from the foothills of the French Alps in springtime. The harvesters transport their haul by bicycle; the flowers are then macerated in neutral grape spirit, before a moderate (by most liqueurs’ standards) level of sugar is added.
