Byrrh
Vermouths, Aperitifs and Digestifs
Popular French red wine based aperitif founded by brothers Pallade & Simon Violet in 1866. The Thuir region of South Western France was experiencing a boom in the wine industry at this time. Competitors did not take kindly to rival upstarts, so the brothers marketed Byrrh as a health drink or tonic so as not to attract unwanted attention.
