The Balvenie Fifty Collection
The Balvenie Fifty Collection is a trilogy of some of the rarest and most intriguing single malts released by the Speyside distillery to date. This new collection is the culmination of the interwoven stories of craftsmanship at Balvenie from the last 50 years, with the first whisky in the trilogy coming from a single cask filled in 1973.
Balvenie 50 Year Old First Edition 2024

£42,500
The first edition in the Fifty Collection was matured in a single European oak refill butt, which was filled in 1973 and watched over by the people of Balvenie until it was selected by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie. This whisky showcases the depth and complexity of the spirit influence by the European oak cask while maintaining Balvenie’s classic honeyed style, even after half a century of ageing.
Interwoven Stories
The Fifty Collection is a celebration of the craftsmanship and the lives of Balvenie’s distillery team, and to compliment this history the first edition is presented in exquisite packaging from bespoke craft workshop Croglin, in Cumbria. Each case contains more than 100 different elements, including four separate layers of wood created in a beautiful helix structure, and a 14-carat gold-plated display plate.
About The Balvenie
One of the original seven stills of Dufftown, Balvenie has been in business since 1892. It’s storied history is full of experimentation, a spirit of curiosity that has been passed down through the generations. Though the distillery boasts an open-minded approach to distilling and maturation, it also maintains a connection with tradition. Today it is one of only seven distilleries in Scotland to operate a floor maltings on-site. It’s not the easiest way to get malted barley, or the cheapest, but having direct control over the raw materials has allowed Balvenie to remain fiercely creative.
