One of the now-legendary 1972 Broras bottled by Diageo as part of the Rare Malts series, that really kick-started the explosion of interest in this lost distillery. 1972 is regarded by experts as a miracle year for Brora, and this particular version won Brora expert Serge Valentin's highest ever score, with 97 points. Enough said.

@gooddaze- yes there was another one at 61.1%, but it's auction value is significantly less. However, it should still be a brilliant whisky - treat yourself on a special occasion.

can anyone tell me if there was another same bottle but at 61/1%vol as i have one is it worth more or the same as 58/7%vol too rich for me to open mybee one day ha ha

v Angus, I'm afraid to be the one to tell you this, but at this level of scotch (the Brora level) if you're counting 'points' which are the thoughts of a select few, then you don't really 'get' it.

This is indeed a truly stunning whisky but actually the highest ever score on whiskyfun was 98 points that has so far gone to three whiskies: Springbank 12yo Samaroli, Laphroaig 1967 Samaroli and Laphroaig 1966 G
