Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose

Flambéed bananas, toasted coconut, marshmallow, and spice. Cherry and vanilla develop.

    • Palate

Balanced spice and oak, with black pepper, sweet cream and dark tobacco notes.

    • Finish

Very long, with sweet spice and toasted oak fading to reveal fruit.

  • Tasting Notes by Stuart P

    • Nose

Rich, tempting aromas of flambéed bananas, toasted coconut shavings, a touch of marshmallow and a faint grassy note. Then aromas of spices waft up through the glass – cinnamon and nutmeg – as well as juicy cherries, vanilla and toffee.

    • Palate

Superb balance between spice, toasty oak and a creamy, peppery note. Sweet and luxurious, but with more savoury notes of tobacco and dark chocolate, creating lovely balance. The complexity builds, with layers of spice growing over time. Beautifully soft texture.

    • Finish

Very long lasting, with the sweet spices complementing the toasty oak and fruit.

    • Comment

I would defy anyone not to enjoy this. Easy to drink, but tons of complexity, and a rum that rewards slow sipping. Excellent.

    Finlay,

A brilliant rum, doesn't burn, doesn't taste artificial and doesn't disappoint! It is expensive, for those new to rum, but I think it is 100% worth it. On the nose I get a toasted coconut with a sticky banana sweetness creeping behind. A simple black pepper spice also appears in unison. On the taste I get a lot of banana, with the toasted coconut powering through. There is also a hint of spice, with a slight burn but nothing to put a newcomer off. On the finish, I get the toasted coconut again with a lingering, but pleasant spice.

    Poirot,

Very nice rum but it clearly has additives. Quite sweet but tolerable compared to many other ‘dosed’ rums. Easy sipping neat.

    Jason,

A PHENOMENAL taste, and finish. Absolutely a great sipping rum.
