Customer Rating

An extraordinarily intense, profoundly sweet, sticky Pedro Ximenez sherry from Gonzalez Byass. One of the world's great wines - so densely viscous you practically have to shake it out of the bottle.

I bought a litre of this when I had a tour of the Gonazale Byass. It is intense, ideal on its own however it is perfect to accompany either Christmas pudding or Christmas cake (even better when the cake is accompanied by mature Stilton).

WOW !!! Just WOW !!! Rich and dark like silky chocolate (after its melted in your mouth) full of fruits robust in nature .....yet those 30 years sat in a oak barrel have leached into it but never over power the layers of flavours with heavy tannins and it leads me to believe the barrel used had a heavy toast before it was filled with this wonderful style of sherry. Also if you are a whisky drinker and like PX finished whisky''s or want to add some more depth of flavour then add some of this to a whisky or use this sherry to cook with. Well done Gonzalez Byass Noe, you have made a wonderful creation here worthy of any award it picks up in the future as this will be hard to beat for PX style sherry !.

Truly bewildering - this is absolutely bursting with intense dry fruit flavours. Incredibly sweet and viscous - it''s something to use as a cocktail ingredient, rather than drink neat. Just a single barspoon transforms an old fashioned into something truly wondrous.

Simply delicious and like no other sherry I've tasted previously. Notes of fig, digestive biscuit, raisin etc. Christmas cake in a glass and a real treat.

A truly fabulous old sherry... dark, intense, sweet and sumptuous, it speaks of those long years in darknesss, waiting in silence for the day !
