Customer Rating
Drambuie's longer aged whisky liqueur, made with whiskies aged for at least 15 years and with all the extra depth of flavour and general tastiness you'd hope that implies. One we're happy to see back on the shelves again.

Drambuie 15 Year Old Speyside Whisky Liqueur Reviews

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Lew Bryson for Whisky Advocate

    Hugely different from the standard Drambuie: much more dryly herbal, and the whisky's right here in the nose... and yet, they are distinctly related in the base character of the herbs. The whisky is quite present - 15 year old Speyside malts shine like the sun on rippling water - but the flavors of Drambuie are clear as well. Still sweet, but the whisky is much more the star. A Drambuie for us? 92 Points

    An outstanding liqueur, enjoyable as an entry-way into the Scotch world for newcomers, as well as holding great rewards for long-time Scotch drinkers. The sweetness of conventional Drambuie is pleasantly reduced, while the whisky is more assertive. A divine melding of flavors and aromas, wonderful sipped neat or on the rocks. Truly and fairly characterized as a nectar of the Gods! A toast to the independent company of William Grant & Sons, for bringing us this fine offering.

    The 15 year old speyside whisky that is used is a little rough. However the honey and herbs manage to mellow it out a bit. It''s pretty nice, not amazing just nice. A better quality whisky would lift it further…

    A really delicious warming and flavoursome whiskey drink combining the best malt with Drambuie flavour and no syrup texture.

    Not as sweet and sticky as the regular Drambuie. You can really taste the Whisky in this. Its almost like a grown up version. Highly recommended.

    Right at this moment I`am enjoying a glass of Drambuie 15. It`s a dessert of my friday night whisky meal, which includes 2 Speyside single malts topped with this treasure. I really love the texture of the drink, its warmth and the distinguishable tastes of whisky, honey and spices. For those who haven`t tried it yet: I think it resembles Benedictine in a way.

    This Drambuie is absolutely my solution of how to relax. I never knew how to calm down and now I take a small glass of Drambuie on the rocks and sip it slowly and am in 7th heaven. It has a great sweet and unique taste. I am normally not a drinker of any kind except something sweet and this is it ! I love it and it is like medicine and therapy to me.

    My son purchased the Drambuie 15 for me for father's day and had it shipped to me in Florida. I have already been enjoying the Liqueur for years and when I tried the 15 for the first time, I was hooked. It has a full rich scotch tast with a hint of the sweet drambuie liqueur I have grown to love over the years. The accent is definitely on the whisky but the liqueur still comes through.

    I am sitting having a glass just now. No comparison to the sweet Drambuie. I love it. I bought a bottle to try 3-4 weeks ago. I am enjoying the last glass from that bottle. I am not a regular drinker. I love after a hard days work sitting back relaxing with a glass of my now favourite tipple. A must try. Just do not expect to have a sweet liquor. it is more complex and much more interesting.

    Up to a year ago had not heard of it before, but an avid Drambuie drinker, discovered the 15 year old at Glasgow Airport, purchase one litre bottle every time I go through the airport, excellent tipple. Alex.D.08/02/2013

    Thanks so much. For years when I enjoyed Drambuie I mixed it with J&B or sometimes a nice Cognac as the straight Drambuie is too sweet for my taste. Came through Heathrow the other day on our way back to the states and saw and tasted the 15. Terrific! Bought 2 bottles (all we were allowed to import on our person) and love it.

    Really a danger this drambui! it is so tasty, charming and smooth - you may go for that for centuries and you will be never tired of it;

    I have Drank Drambuie for the best part of my life (now 65). However I must admit I had never heard of this 15 year old Speyside Whisky. Fantastic! Really enjoyed it. Having difficulty finding a local supplier, but will get there. Well done !

    bought it for my birthday a few days ago. Hope to have many more birthdays to celebrate the taste- strong, smooth and utterly addictive

    I tried this at a Drambuie-organised tasting and I love it - the original is just too sweet for me (a whisky-lover) to drink any amount of, whereas the 15 has much more malty flavour, smoke, and complexity. The brand rep explained to us that the percentage of whisky is higher (obviously), and that it is all single malt and grain, with no vatted or lower quality spirits in there. For not loads more money than the original, for me it offers way more bang for your buck.
