The Buffalo Trace Single Oak Project is one of the most ambitious releases of whiskey that we've ever seen. 192 different whiskies each made by varying 7 of the elements of the recipe to give a range that shows the effect of each factor: Where in the tree the barrel wood comes from; thickness of wood grain; stave seasoning time; level of char; mash bill; barrel filling proof; and position in the warehouse.
We only have a small number of bottles and unfortunately can't guarantee specific barrel numbers, but you can compare and contrast your opinions with others over on the Buffalo Trace website.

Had this whiskey as single at The refinery located at west Dallas street and fell in love with the taste. My son and I enjoyed few more efferent American Whiskey/ies and ended our session with this SBW. Totally recommended.

For me, this feels similar to Pappy Van Winkle 23 year Family reserve. Glad I got more than one when the chance arose.

This bourbon is simply to die for, I broke the seal on this bottle and immediately the aroma was so sweet and pervasive that my guest rushed towards the source. Very smooth and satisfying drink I must say. definitive Proof that the yanks do a few things correctly and buffalo trace happens to be one of them. Cheers!
