My dad and I often get each other a bottle of whiskey for each others birthday. My dad recently celebrated his 70th birthday and wanted to get him a bottle that he has never had before, something special to mark the milestone. Decided on the magnum bottle of Willet’s Pot Still Reserve, for the look of the bottle and the 5 star reviews. He absolutely loved it and has never tried it before. Wish I could upload a picture to this review, so that you can see the happy look on his face when he opened it . Also got him the LSA Madrid Decanter (160cl), which was a gift from his grandchildren (my kids). On another note, the 5 stars is also for The Whiskey Exchange for their quick delivery and great protective packaging of the products.
We were introduced to this in a hotel in Kentucky when we enquired what we should drink. Back in the uk we have purchased both the normal and large bottle. Always a good drink. I prefer with a few cubes of ice as we would have in the USA.
We first had willets in a bourbon bar in Kentucky. They serviced it from the 175 bottle. We then bought the standards bottle in the uk. While the taste is the same we have enjoyed the larger bottle.
The first time I tried this was at a local gathering and I was blown away. In fact the whiskey I normally drank was nothing compared to this. Well worth it and really up there in quality.
Any Bourbon with higher strength of alcohol always attracts me. Tried this one and not at all disappointed. Smooth, long finish with hint of lemon, vanila and ofcourse dried fruits. Loved this one..
