Tasting Notes by Billy A
Nose: leathery sherry notes, with tarred ropes, burnt sugar, medicinal edges, spiced fruit and burnt raisins (the ones that puff up and go crunchy on the edges of fruit cake). More sweetness developed as it sat in the glass, with jelly babies, coconut and vanilla appearing.
Palate: pungent fruit and peat smoke, with grapefruit, linseed oil, and some floral touches, balanced by black liquorice, green leaves and some menthol. Water brought out more sweetness, with blackcurrant, cinnamon sugar and fruity chews developing along with spiced lebkuchen.
Finish: dark wood, soft tar, woody spice and green apple.

Even a tiny sip did it! Sip, spread wait, take air... there it is! Pure taste over quite Some time! Perfect to my liking. curious about older specimen..???
Enjoyed a tasting of the darkest last week poured by the man who used to manage Bowmore. What an honour and what a malt. Simply the best!
