A legendary Islay whisky, Bunnahabhain Auld Acquaintance was distilled on New Year’s Eve 1968 – hence its name referencing the Robert Burns famous poem, Auld Lang Syne. Bottlings like this are exactly why collectors get excited about single malts from the 1960s. Notes of wild strawberry, quince and stone fruit are backed up by old-fashioned sherry cask influence that brings cigar boxes, mocha, leatherbound books and red liquorice.
