Singleton of Dufftown Tailfire Reviews

Tasting Notes

  • Producer's Notes

The vibrant, red berry freshness is achieved by a combination of toasted ex Sherry casks bringing richness and body, and charred American oak casks which allow the subtle berry sweetness to come to the fore.

It's outrageous that this only has 4.5 stars. It's a knockout 5 every time. Rich, complex and delightful. the only delay in acquiring the taste is the time taken to find a bottle.

A mellow easy to drink single malt of distinct character. None of the snake bite to tongue or tastebuds, no depth of smoke but minor hints of a good caramelised malt with a smooth honey lubricating feel to add to the collection of bottles. Must get round to finishing a few bottles to allow new different bottles to be added. Enjoy.....

Very mild, I enjoyed it immensely, liked the absence of wood and smokiness in the taste. Very easy to drink, does not have that heavy kick in the throat.

First time trying Tailfire and I am a fan of Singleton. I found this to be a wee bit of an acquired taste, but one which I am sure I will "acquire". Bold sweetness but distinctive Singleton.. A proper treat and pick me up when needed. Would definitely recommend
