Just had a first taste of The Balvenie 21 yo Port Wood and must say this pretty expensive sm cannot beat the A''bunadh batch 49. Yes, the 21 yo is good (no water and leave it for half an hour) but the Arbelour offers a really outstanding scotch for just 1/3 of the Balvenies price. If you don''t like a sherry matured scotches you must have a nip of this one! It''s highly in my top 5 offering an explosion of all different types of herb, chocolate and oranges. Leave it for at least 15 minutes and add about 20% water, no more. It has a great nose, and although the CS passes the 60% mark it''s a very smooth scotch. Even without water the A''bunadh doesn''t bite you with sharpness. Amazing. And at not even € 50 a bottle the don''t comemuch better.
A bit too fierce for me without a dash of water. Spice and Oranges on the nose. Orange and Black Cherries, nicely sherried. Excellent Speyside
Totally agree with glenrobinite, a beautiful Whisky, & one of the best I''ve had the privilege to taste.
wow wow wow!!!!!!!!!! can only be abunadh, high proof but what a sipping whiskey!!!!
