Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by Stuart P

    • Nose

Gentle peat, coal embers and tarry rope first up, softened by clean, razor-sharp lemon oil and pink peppercorns. A drop of water unlocks heady floral and fruity aromas – rose water, raspberry, heather honey. Plenty going on here, but with everything in its place.

    • Palate

Again, starts off with subtle peat and wispy smoke, then the fruit comes through, but more forceful this time – waxy mango with honey, passion fruit, plus some freshness in the form of red berries and white pepper. Lovely balance – nothing dominates – with a clean, precise mouthfeel.

    • Finish

Perfect balance between soft peat and refreshing citrus. The honeyed fruity character lasts a very long time.

    • Comment

Classy and elegant, another textbook Bowmore with plenty of smoke and fruit, but delivered in a restrained way.

  • Producer's Tasting Notes

    • A spicy, mellow taste of sweet vanilla, cedar wood, exotic mango and honey rose blossom gently kissed by peat.

This leads to the refined, elegant complexity of floral spice and fragrant smoke, carried on a fresh ocean breeze.

This is truely unique and incredible. As good as Bowmore is, this has a subtle taste of Bowmore with a very smooth level of peat. As it develops there are very complex flavors of honey and fruit.
