Customer Rating
A mystery Islay single malt from an unnamed distillery, purported by many to be Lagavulin, which somehow seems a little unlikely to us. That said, this is a terrific dram for the money and likely to appeal to frugal peatheads.

A lovely lightly plated single malt. Smooth but bursting with flavour

Nose: salt air, costal smoke and slightly medicinal. Taste: Oak notes, peat smoke, fishermans socks, hints of tobacco and dark chocolate. Finish: Warm with lingering spice. Overall 8/10 - Fine wee dram and fairly priced. Stands up well and unmistakably Islay. A good buy.

If you have never tried a petard Islay whisky before, this is an excellent introduction. It's lightly peated so won't put off those who've never tried such a whisky before, it's surprisingly smooth but still has a bite to remind you of its origins. It reminds me of an Ardbeg or Laphroig but a smoother version. I personally think this is a very fine drop of single malt and gives some well known 12 year old malts I've tried, a serious run for their money. Quite frankly I think it's a steal for the price being charged so get a bottle before it runs out.

Turf and a little smoke. Still very smooth and easy to drink.

Lots of honey, and though I didn't find this particularly smoky, it was lovely all the same, and very smooth. A real find, and at an extremely reasonable price. Well worth trying.

So peaty it's as if it has been infused with Highland turf!
