Product Description
Each year, Whisky Exchange director Sukhinder Singh chooses a single whisky to be released under his own label – Masterpieces. 2015’s selection is a 2002 vintage from Bruichladdich. It’s a complex dram, similar in style to the hugely popular and now hard-to-find Laddie 10, but with the greater depth and divergence from house style that a well-selected single cask can offer.

Flapjacks, creamy porridge, sweet apples and a touch of sea-spray saltiness.

Sweet and spicy, with Garibaldi and digestive biscuits, and brown sugar. Water brings out more sweetness, adding layers of fruit – raisins, apple, apricot, pineapple and dried papaya.
Finish
Gentle spice and fruit, leading to a biscuity end.
Comment
A classic early new-wave Bruichladdich – creamy and sweet, with lots of fruit and cereal.

A masterpiece indeed. (And, thus, more than worth the price.) Balanced AND beguiling. Much more interesting and enjoyable than the 27 yo 4th edition DNA - which, although technically flawless (and nearly 3 times the price), was flat and generic by comparison.
A true masterpiece but just a little pricey hence the four star rating. You would expect a lot of phenolic notes at that strength but you don't get them. Beautiful sweetness develops with a lingering creamy and spicy finish. Recommended if it's in your budget.
