The 2009 vintage of Bruichladdich Islay Barley comes from grain grown by four farmers in the centre of Islay, making a great comparison with the more maritime Rockside Farm which provided barley for the 2007 vintage. Lightly sweet with notes of malt, toffee apple, banana and ginger.

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by The Whisky Exchange

    Nose: Fruit jumps out of the glass: pineapple, mango and ripe gooseberries. Darker fruit follows.

    Palate: Sweet cereal mixes with lemons and honey. Toffee apple and sherried sponge cake build.

    Finish: Warming, with soft spice fading to leave orchard fruit.
