Kakubin Yellow Label is Suntory's flagship blended whisky. Produced since 1937, its name means 'square bottle'. A blend of bourbon-cask whisky from Yamazaki and Hakushu, this is a classic example of lighter Japanese whisky and is great in a highball with soda.

    The vanilla, honey, and orange come out strong in this one. A tiny bit of lingering spice at the end, but overall, it's smooth and silky. No offensive flavors or notes, but it leaves me wanting more when I drink it neat. More of a cocktail whisky, honestly. Luckily, the country in which I live has this readily available for cheap (around 35 USD). I can't imagine paying 60 pounds for this, which is what W.E. is saying this costs. Invest in something else for that price.

    With a single big clear ice cube. Incredibly accessible whisky, scent and taste so delicate, velvet-y, floral, and really well-balanced. This was a real treat, asked for one more and then for the bottle to take home.
