A wonderful blend. Well balanced. Balance is what I always look for in blends. This is what elevates blends. Industry insiders know that Irish whiskey is running dry. Had the pleasure of personal email exchange of notes with the whiskey maker for Kinahan's regarding this Small Batch, was interested to learn that this is actually one of Kinahan's most underestimated releases. Go to for me on blends. Equivalent to Midleton Rare which retails at £100+. Read previous reviews below, consistent. Though sad to see some haters, clearly from within the industry, LoL.
I am more than bemused by the three previous reviews extolling the wonderful nature of this whiskey. My experience with was quite to the contrary. It is the whisky equivalent of a badly corked wine, the same unpalatable qualities of TCA on the nose and palate. An atrocious concoction which must be a result of the charred barrels. A quite expensive mistake. . .
One of my favourite Irish Whiskies, would definitely recommend!
I always preferred scotch being confident that Irish whiskeys are mostly for casual drinkers and not for connosieurs at all. This one was an eye opener for me. Complex and rich yet lacks that heavy Scottish maltose (just my humble opinion! no offence for Scotch lovers ;)
I've bought this Single Malt after reading Murray's reviews and I must say that all the prizes it won are definitely well-deserved. It is incredibly intense and smooth, a unique tasting experience. It is definitely outstanding, I strongly recommend to give it a try if never tasted before.
