Independent bottlings of Ledaig from the mid-2000s have been of high quality and this is no different. This peated whisky from the Isle of Mull offers excellent balance between fruit, spice, brine and smoke.

Tasting Notes
-
Tasting notes by Billy Abbott (The Whisky Exchange)
-
Nose
Sea shores, swimming pools and hot car seats. Lime zest crashes through, followed by bacon-tinger smoke and green leaves.
-
Palate
A pile of pine needles and rich earthiness up front quickly dissolve into sweet peat smoke, salted caramel, apples, pears and icing sugar.
-
Finish
Spicy smoke, dark chocolate and [pine, fading to sweet black liquorice with a grind of pepper.
-
Comment
An intensely maritime dram: the essence of Ledaig. One for fans of peat smoke, the seaside and beach bonfires.

Like some kind of blend of sea water and olive oil. The green olive notes are really unique. Fantastic Ledaig.
