Hazy Hops. Okay, whatever. Just another bitter trying to squeeze into an already saturated market, right? Well… not quite. I pause. Interesting aroma. I need to taste this. A couple of drops on the back of my hand. Whoa. What is this? It feels like my brain has been dropped into a time machine—one hemisphere racing forward, the other rewinding. My taste buds scatter in every direction. I try to focus and glance at the bottle. The label looks blurred. Is it me, or is it meant to be that way? I honestly can’t tell. I feel torn apart, dazzled, wondering what’s happening. Suddenly I’m back in Amsterdam, reliving the first—and last—time I ever felt truly high. A psychedelic assault on the senses. Fig fruit seems to be injected straight into my veins, while mesmerizing citrus notes swirl all around. Is this stuff even legal? Then the bitterness arrives. It reins everything in. Calms the chaos. Contradicts the contradiction. Peace settles in. And I’m left wondering: what just happened? I can’t wait to let this crazy little potion work its magic in my beloved recipes—bringing an unexpected, yet somehow obvious, twist of definition to everything it touches.
