Good value for money. Nice bit of peat. Would definitely buy again.
Best sipping scotch on the market. Why spend more?
Poor finish - very rough, chemical taste.
Burnt tires, licorice, vitality, chili, some sweetness, peat... You either love it or hate it. I love it. Many things going on in the glass... Not for the faint hearted. If you like strong flavours (like chili) you will like this whisky, but if you rather like to have a smooth and delicate dram this whisky may not be for you. Rumor has it that its a juvenile Lagavulin, but who knows...
Bought this for the Mrs who loves her smokey flavours from Islay, she absolutely loved it! Says it's as smooth as our new born's skin!!
After recently drinking Bourbon exclusively, this is my first Islay whisky. Needless to say it's a whole new world. The initial aroma is a smoky vapor, then the first taste had a tangy bite to it. While it's not as smooth as most single malts I've had, it has a lot of character. With flavors of earthy peet smoke, it's very rustic.
Love this and think it's an absolute bargain. Think of it as a baby Talisker, real peaty, smokey overtones but just that bit lighter than Talisker.
