Famous old blend containing a high proportion of quality grain whisky. James Buchanan apparently got the idea for the brand on his way home from a dogshow - and the rest is history...

It's sad to see how one of the greatest blends ever is totally gone. That really old fashioned, smoky sweet, super complex old Black & White is gone and now this is just another dull, caramel sweet, mediocre scottisch blend. So sad, so sad.

Solid whiskey for the price. One of the better blended scotches out there. I'd say much smoother than a Red Label for sure.

Absolutely the best blend out there. I'm not a snob, I love singletter malts and have had a couple dozen by now, but I still enjoy a good blend too. I've had pretty much all the blends, there's only a couple that I haven't got to (Vat 69 never seen it) Anyway my ranking in *taste* goes like this (for non-premium) blends: Black and White, Bells, Black/Smoky Grouse, Famous Grouse, Johnnie Walker Red, Cutty Sark. Okay then ones that I wouldn't say no too but I'm not in a big rush to everify buy 'em again.. From 'better' to 'less better' Chivas, Grant's, Ballentines, Teachers, Dewars... Never Again: J&B

Smooth, comparatively cheap, and screams "scotch." A good budget buy.

Whilst B&W was a secretly popular blend for Scots outside the UK, especially in hot countries where ice was a necessity, its day had been and sadly gone! Unavailable to the UK market it is now shipped full strength and bottled in local facilities. Possibly the worst so called "Scotch" I have ever tasted. Quality and consistancy are not always a local trait and locals know it! Bad decision by Diagio and one I suggest will impact Scotlands future production. The words " bottled in Scotland" soon to be sacrosanct.
