Hampden Estate 2011 / 7 Year Old / LFCH / Habitation Velier
Product Description

A big and fruity rum from Hampden Estate. LFCH is a rarely seen style of rum from the distillery with an ester count of 200-250 gr/hlpa, with this release coming in at 231.3. What that overly technical description means is that it's really fruity, with loads of pineapple and banana notes complemented by 7 years of tropical maturation and a huge angel's share concentrating the flavours. A punchy pot-still rum from Habitation Velier that's a must for fans of fruity rum.

This is not the same rum I bought and drank last December 2019. There is no ester, strength or weight to it. I don't understand how this liquid can be in this bottle. It's like they rinsed out the empty barrel and bottled it. The rum I drank last year (2019) was rich heavy and strong. From the moment the cork was removed, the air was filled with the sweet thick aroma which travelled to other rooms. This is not that rum. The same goes for the Forsyths WP 502 White rum and Ableforth's Rumbullion Navy strength spiced rum. What is going on? P.S The Smith and Cross is now better than this.
