Product Description
A sea-faring people, House Greyjoy rule over the Iron Islands and worship the Drowned God. The Ironborn live and breathe the sea, making their fortune amidst salt and smoke. With the sweat of their brows and the strength of their backs the Greyjoys have forged their place amongst the great Houses of Westeros, feeding their people and surviving on the desolate Iron Islands. They pay the Iron Price to succeed. On the shores of one of the most remote and rugged Islands in Scotland, the Isle of Skye, lies Talisker Distillery. Its wave-beaten shores imbue its whisky with Talisker’s signature maritime character. An intense, smoky single malt, with spicy and sweet notes, whose maritime edge makes this the perfect whisky to represent House Greyjoy.
Golden copper in colour, this Talisker is aged in heavily charred, ex-bourbon American oak casks for a truly unique character. The nose is typical of the distillery, with dry peppery smoke and dark chocolate tones. The palate explodes with flavours of salted caramel and chili flakes, with a subtle background of peppery smoke. The long finish brings sweet fruitcake notes and a lasting hint of heather.

It's an above-average scotch but fails to live up to the other Taliskers. Even the standard 10yr packs more flavour than this. The finish is smokier than all but the Storm Series, and it has a rather nice dried fruit flavour on the palate which is absent from other Taliskers. Rather sad to say that the best thing about this whiskey is the cool bottle.
Smooth yet distinctively Talisker
This has the iodine nose of talisker, the palette is has the spice and brine of the normal 10 year old but not quite as big but has a nice long finish but not as much peat.
Not nearly as smokey as most Talisker's I've had. It hits a sweet spot of mine between Oban and Talisker with enough smoke to enjoy but very smooth and salty and behaves more like a coastal highland scotch.
I was sorely disappointed in this Scotch. Nose.....fair, a bit smokey, nothing exciting. Palate, it really can't be this bad. Seaweed, salt, slightly smokey, raw. Nothing like the producer claims. Finish, same, bad after taste. After (2) drinks on the rocks on separate days, I'm unsure if I want to try to give the rest of the bottle away and perhaps lose a friend or OMG dump it down the drain. After probably 25 different Scotches that I have tried. this is the worst.
