Royal Lochnagar also enjoys royal connection, having held a Royal Warrant, first awarded by Queen Victoria, since 1848. Unlike House Baratheon, whose rule is over and whose family lies in ruins, Royal Lochnagar has only grown in strength. Its reputation for incredible whiskies has grown and spread, and it has maintained praise from British monarchs. Well balanced, fruity and spicy, it truly is a taste of royalty.
A light amber colour of this single malt echoes the light and delicate aromas of this 12-year-old Royal Lochnagar. It starts with gentle oak aromas that develop into sweeter caramel tones with a fruity edge. When you taste it there are immediate sweet layers of vanilla and liquorice, which blend into a gentle finish of nutmeg and sweet pastries.

Nose
The pale amber colour of this single malt is light & delicate just like the aromas of this 12 year old Royal Lochnagar which develops soft notes of oak before moving into hints of banana foster with caramelised turbinado sugar.
Palate
On the palate it's sweet on the opening with layers of liquorice and rich, creamy vanilla coffee.
Finish
The palate blends into a long finish with mild nutmeg and a creamy custard tart finish.

I was bought a bottle for my birthday and at first thought that it maybe a bit gimmicky with low quality whiskey inside. I was very wrong, it's delicious ?? Light to drink with a prominent vanilla hit and a touch of oak. I finished the bottle way too soon and asked for the same at Christmas. Nothing but a clear 5* from me
Warming and excellent lingering flavours
Very impressed this is my type of malt whisky so much so that I have ordered 2 more. Very smooth & rounded.
Yes I have tried and drunk this delightful whisky. I has a gorgeous after taste of toffee and is very smooth to drink. In fact I like it so much I am about to order another bottle - the first one is almost finished!!
i prefer the standard 12 year old this is not as good
