Tomatin 12 Year Old / Sherry Cask
Product Description

A polished, mellow, very approachable Speysider, Tomatin was once the largest distillery in Scotland with 23 stills and a production capacity of 12 million litres of alcohol per year. These days capacity is down to 5 million litres, the majority of which goes into the delicious Antiquary blend. This sherry-matured version is a noticeable improvement on the old 12yo.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Tasting Notes by CLASS Magazine

    • Appearance

      Clear, pale straw golden.

    • Aroma

Pita bread maltyness with white fruit, hints of subtle peatiness and floral honeysuckle.

    • Taste

Toasted bread maltyness, succulent pear and crisp apple fruit with just enough charcoal and peaty smokiness and dry nutty wood.

    • Aftertaste

More dry nutty notes emerge with subtle lingring peat smoke. Wonderfully rounded and flavoursome.

    Gustavo,

I started to drink Balvenie Doublewood about 25 years ago after being introduced to whiskey at a tasting event. Loved it then but the price has doubled since. Tomatin is my new favorite. Perfect combination of taste and affordability.

    Ryan,

Mellow, drinkable and affordable. I’m not uaually into this level of sweetness but it’s a fruity, crisp tart apple type that was unexpectedly pleasent. A bit of peat and oak on the nose and a smooth finish. At this pricepoint, 5 stars no questions asked.

    Schnitzel,

I'm no connoisseur, I just know this stuff is insanely smooth and very attractively priced. I'm usually a cocktails gal but enjoy sipping this neat
