Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose

Eccles cake filling, polished oak, dried apricots and cherries, crunchy nut brittle, damp leaves, riverbank earth, dark muscovado sugar and sticky raisins.

    • Palate

Spiced toffee and caramel lead, with damp oak and a slowly building spiciness not far behind. There's a core of cherry jam surrounded by stewed apples, apricots and pears. Leather and liquorice develop.

The leathery notes fade to leave sweet black liquorice, old oak and blackcurrant jam.

    • Comment

An intense sherry bomb, with well-balanced sweetness, spice and savoury notes.
