Customer Reviews
Unbelievably bad. Like drinking the water you rinsed out a glass someone had been drinking Kahlúa from the night before. Nose isn't great but promising enough for a non-alcoholic alternative. Taste is extremely watery, sweet coffee notes and very, very thin to drink. If you are a whisky drinker you will feel ripped off. I was prepared for a different and massively inferior experience but this stuff is dreadful and came in under even my low expectations by some distance. I will agree with one reviewer, it probably tastes better in a mixer because then you are tasting the mixer and not this dreadful stuff. Only gets 1 star because that's the lowest available rating.
Like others here, I wanted so much to be impressed by this: and like many others, I'm gobsmacked by just how BAD it is - it really is an appalling, ersatz joke of an alternative to whisky. To sum it up - it's homeopathy with ice cubes. It actually makes a "whisky" and ginger ale taste far worse than the ginger on it own: and for the love of all that's holy, don't buy it in the hope that you might be able to drink it straight... I honestly doubt that the people who make it have ever tasted whisky themselves - if they had, they wouldn't dare present this as a convincing alternative...
I was really looking forward to this, but such a disappointment. The smell is a little mediocre with nothing strong coming through, first taste is essentially water with no body at all. The finish is a strong burnt caramel and spice which lingers but I personally don’t find it a pleasant experience.
I thought it smelt just like the real thing. Then I tasted it. Absolutely disgusting. Sharp medicinal taste akin to disinfectant. Nil points. The aftertaste gets worse. Pass the mouthwash.
