Arguably the richest horse in the Johnnie Walker stable, this blended malt whisky travels the regions of Scottish whisky production and conveys the whirlwind of flavours to your mouth. Hearty.

Great dram and price. This new release is excellent from start to finish, sweet, spicey, mouth coating and a medium finish

My cousin just as a gift to me ;)

Green Label contains a couple of my favourite single malts (Talisker and Caol Isla) aged for a minimum of 15 years and bottled at 43%. Not distinctive like the individual malts on their own but a thoroughly enjoyable, smooth and balanced dram nonetheless. I agree with others this will become highly desirable in a few years now it's discontinued so I'm also sitting on a some spares and will try not to drink them!

One of my favorites this one. Wonderful nose, A little oil initially on the palate with Islay peat, then smashing honey notes and a little crisp saltyness from the Talisker. A long enough finish to stay up with the big boys. outstanding! Difficult to decide on my fav between this patted malt and Taketsuru...

An excellent blended malt. Buy one (or three) while the price is reasonable, this will discontinue soon. It's really shame.

Smoky and very smooth taste .good fragarnce of charred old cask Very rich green label gives more pleasure.

  • Length101 18 January 2013

Amazing whisky, smooth, sophisticated and sublime. Drink neat, do not sully it with ice, water or any other mixer. And as it's no longer produced it will become a collectors item in no time.

A little too smokey for me however, try it with a tad of quality water and the taste is transformed.

Just got a bottle today for Christmas - cant wait to try it.

JW discontinued the production of Green Label in 2012. For such a good blend, it never became a commercial success mostly due to having been under-marketed compared to some other JW labels. Great dram for the money, with a lot of character, and this is coming from a single malt fanatic. I will be buying several bottles and sit on them for the next two decades as I presume this label will become very rare and sought for.

Bought another bottle and found it quite different from the two bottles I purchased last year. Much smokier and spicier, oilier, with a salty, drying finnish that I did not notice before. Definitely I would not say about this one that it's 'boring'. Did they change the formula to include more Talisker and Caol Ila?

  • bobby 9 July 2012

£29 is not one bit bad by any ones standards, i think its a very good whiskey. there are no grain whiskeys in that, there is talisker which i enjoy and caol ila, which is anything but boring.

I found J W Green an excellent blend though I do prefer some of the Single Scotish malts or the Welsh Penderyn.

  • Tudval 28 October 2011

Smooth a a little spicy, but I find it a tad boring. Sure it's better than most 12 year olds, but at 15 yo you can find more interesting singles.

people get too caught up in the fact that it is a vatted blend. Bottom line is that this scotch is better than many (not all) single malts like: Auchentoshan12, Glenlivet 12, Glenfiddich12. Johnnie Walker Green is a great honeyed dram bring rich complexity.
