A terrific small-batch bourbon from Four Roses – and in this case, Small Batch means just that – only four casks are used in the construction of each release. Sweet and spicy, with a generous dash of vanilla, this is a treat.

Probably the best bourbon I''ve had. And I''ve had Four Roses Single Barrel, Gentleman Jack, Jack Daniels Single Barrel, Wild Turkey 81 & 101, Buffalo Trace and Eagle Rare 10. Actually it''s a very tough call between this and Eagle Rare, but given the price, I would say FR Small Batch is a pretty amazing whiskey. I just matches perfectly my expectations on sweetness/dryness balance. It''s so smooth, so round, so vanilla, so long finish, so ... perfect.

A phenomenal bourbon for the price. Love whiskybitch''s review of this on youtube - she nails it. Really floral and sweet with a lovely warmth that just makes this a perfect late evening comfort dram. Would recommend.

Easily my favorite bourbon at the moment. Sweet and spicy and packed full of flavour, to the point where you just want to hold it in your mouth as long as possible...

Remarkably smooth with a twist of smokiness along with complex undertones. This is excellent value for money & I have found myself adding a bottle to subsequent orders since first trying. I recently received a gift of a bottle of the single barrel and although I enjoyed, I personally prefer the small batch.

Was fortunate enough to attend a Whisky Exchange tasting last year, the Four Roses stand was there. We tasted this against FR Yellow, Single Barrel and Single Barrel 2011. Overall winner was SB 2011, but this ran very close and beat the normal Single Barrel for me. We tasted at other bourbon stands, and this was only second of the whole day (as above). An amazing bourbon, and for this price.....WOW!!! If you haven't already tried it, I guarantee you will be won over

Wow ! This has to be the best value for money bourbon in the entire Whiskyverse. The taste, the smoothness and the sweetness just blew me away. Should cost at least 3 times the price it is.

This Bourbon is amazing. I'm usually into Scotch single malts, but after trying this I'm hooked, the taste is addictive! and the effect seems to be very uplifting also. I was playing some David Lynch soundtrack CD's whilst drinking this, and the two go so well together. Believe me a bottle of this does not last long, just make sure to drink plenty of nice mineral water on the side.

I can only agree with Aleksej...Superb value for the money. I'll sure get me some more...

This is the first bourbon I've tasted in my life, and I must say it is GREAT! Wish I had ordered more than a single bottle.

For years, Jim Beam white label was the only bourbon I drank. Then I discovered this site. Since then, I've tired many different Bourbons and I must say this small batch Bourbon is one of my very favourites. When I place an order, I like to try something new and different but I always include a bottle four roses SB. I'm only just starting to learn about the aromas and different layers in taste ect.. but I do know what I like and this baby is one I keep coming back to!

    By God! Incredible.

Agreed. While Evan Williams Single Barrel may remain my favorite bourbon, there is no sweeter or more relaxing sip-time fun bottle than Four Roses Small Batch.

I'm an old military man ... a retiree. My drink of choice is single malt Scotch whisky, but I do have a fondness for American Bourbon. Finally got a taste of this small batch last week, and I'm hooked. Utterly different from my usual dram, and frankly it's a very pleasant change. I'll always have a bottle around now. First rate.

Its good....thanks Doogie for the recommendation!

My small batch is also better than my single barrel. The small batch has the best aspects of flowery, bright, delicate, but dapplingly rich qualities that the standard Four Roses bottling has, but it is assertive at 45% and also more satisfyingly complex. My single barrel Four Roses is tame and plain in comparison. Four Roses is dedicated to having the flavor and character consistent from bottle to bottle. If so, I'll be buying the small batch.

This is liquid candy...rich, deep, amazing. Better than the single barrel in my opinion.
