Something Special / Bot.1990s / Litre
Product Description

One of Seagram's (as was) most successful luxury retail blends in the 1970s, Something Special is rarely seen on these shores nowadays. But let's not forget that a lot of lovely Longmorn goes into this blend - if you can see past the supremely naff '70s packaging, this is a pretty impressive whisky.

    EDGAR

I was lucky enough to procure an old bottling (c.1960s/70s) from N. W. M., Australia. No A.B.V. statement was on the main label nor discernible elsewhere although maybe it was on the screw cap paper tabs(faded). Anyway, probably 43%. Once poured into a Glencairn it is noticeably paler compared to when inside the thick glass bottle. I reckon this is at least 12-years-old or more like 20! I have tried to delve into my back-catalogue to describe it but alas, nothing! It has a very large peated component and is very smooth and delicate, rounded, with no unpleasantness WHATSOEVER.

Amazing! I have tried many Scotch whiskies. But Something Spl is superb. Just two days ago I had tried another scotch which was must costlier than this, but that effect of 'Something Special' was great.

I used to drink this scotch whiskey. I think it compares favorably with any 8 years old whiskey of and with many 12 years old whiskeys. The 15 years old Something Special is superb.
