Clean and buttery with hints of ginger, hazelnut and marzipan. Spicy with strong cinnamon bite and a hint of anise on top with touches lemon. Lemon tartness balanced with cinnamon spiciness that fades slowly.

After being legally poisoned by the many Scottish cooking whiskies for nearly24 years I happened to have to make a trip to somewhere close to Colleraine ( SP). My host suggested than my wife & I take in the Bushmills distillery as they knew we''d done some 12 or so Scottish whisky trails . After standing back and letting the alchol dependent try and snaffle the biggest free tasters we asked one of the fantastic staff if we could try a few more different products once the crowd had gone. We ende d up buying two 60 year old bottles of Bushmills single .. well worth the price but it did stretch the bank account a bit more than we''d hoped. Well we moved on to some place that was some lords hunting lodge and stayed the night .. in the morning when we got up at 06.30 we found we''d quietly & happily supped over 3/4 of the bottle but we didn''t feel any the worse for wear. After a hearty breakfast Irish style we continued on our journey . I still find it amazing the we didn''t feel hung over or have the Scottish whisky stomach burn that both of us occasionally got after just one double of any of their whiskies. We are now total converts to Bushmils single malts and have now been in this happy state for over 36 years . I know nothing of the poncy classifications and snob words used for describing the Bushmills single whiskey but I do agree that they are worth all those gold medal awards many many times over .
Not what you''d expect from a Bushmills blend. I think this was originally going to be launched as a single Malt but luckily the went for this version. Excellent whiskey. I''ve exhausted funds buying enough to last me. I''m drinking a bottle as I write.
Smooth yet full bodied- with hints of honeyed sweetness. I was thrilled to locate this whiskey via your site!
Fantastic. Ignore the negative comments and Jim Murray's review. This is extremely good irish whiskey and an absolute steal at under £40! Thank you very much whisky exchange!
Really great whisky but beside the 16 triple wood it comes in second!
