An exciting new offering in indie bottler Decadent Drinks' Equinox & Solstice series. This bottling comes from the elusive and enigmatic Balmenach distillery. While rarely seen as a single malt, Balmenach has earned its cult following among enthusiasts for its meaty and often waxy character. This 10 Year Old was aged in a refill hogshead, before a finishing period in a 1st fill bourbon quarter cask to bring out even more bright fruitiness. On the nose there are notes of honey, ripe peaches, fresh pears balanced by the soft vanilla of toasted oak. This translates onto the palate as ripe yellow peaches, butterscotch, and vanilla, with a bright and vibrant finish.
