Product Description

Selected by the team at The Whisky Exchange as an exclusive release for The Whisky Show 2026, this is a single cask expression from Derbyshire’s exciting White Peak. Lightly peated, it was matured in a first-fill ex-bourbon barrel that emphasises juicy tropical and orchard fruit notes with vanilla spice and coconut, as a touch of smoke whispers in-between.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose

Grainy porridge and sauce, with aromatic wood smoke and vanilla shortbread. Fruity notes develop with a little time in the glass, starting with apples and building into unripe mango and pineapple with ripe pear following. Farmyardy touches build, along with waxiness and singed lemon peel.

    • Palate

Rich and thick, with a softly smoky background. Spicy notes of cinnamon and kick things off, wrapped around apples: fresh green sweet and sour, boiled sweets and Japanese chews. The mango and pineapple from the nose ripen, and the pears get a little crunchy. Darker oak spice and a hint of liquorice hide at the back, along with a bit of berry compote and dark chocolate.

    • Finish

A burst of gravelly smoke leads to dark fruit cake and baked apples. Polished oak and gentle fruitiness linger for a long time.
