Ardnamurchan 2014 / 12 Year Old / Cask #32 / Whisky Show 2026
Product Description

Exclusively bottled for The Whisky Show 2026 by Ardnamurchan, this is an exciting release indeed, seeing as it’s the first time the distillery has every put out a 12-year-old single malt. An unpeated expression, it has been matured in a first-fill bourbon barrel – barrel #32, in fact! Fresh and grassy at the open, with sweet candied peel, apples and gentle oak spice following. On the palate, those notes are joined by barley sugar, cinnamon and creamy toffee, with a thread of mint. More than up to Ardnamurchan’s usual standards and an exciting glimpse of what’s to come.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • Billy Abbott, The Whisky Exchange

    • Nose

Fresh and grassy at first, with ferns and brambles. Candied peel sweetness develops, along with sweet and sour green apples, ripe pears, peaches and unripe pineapple. Gentle damp oak spiciness hides at the back.

    • Palate

The grassiness leads, with barley sugar sweetness and cinnamon spice, and the orchard fruit from the nose: apples and pears with an extra squeeze of lemon. The grassiness becomes herbal and lightly minty, complemented by a touch of creamy toffee and a touch more spice.

    • Finish

Spicy notes linger with creamy toffee and touch of mint.
