Customer Rating
A relaunch in fancy packaging for Burn Stewart's Deanston single malt, previously famous as the whisky used in the much-missed Wallace whisky liqueur. Trivia snitched from the Malt Whisky Yearbook: Deanston is the only distillery in Scotland that is self-sustaining for electricity, being equipped with a dam and a turbine.

Deanston 12 Year Old Reviews

Tasting Notes

  • Producer's Notes

Nose: Fresh hays of summer, malty cereal, rich creamy toffee and honeyed heather balanced with sweet oak and barley sugar.

Palate: Smooth creamy sweetness with sumptuous hints of fruit, malty honeyed spiciness and soft vanilla.

Finish: Crisp and satisfying with a tingle of cloves which linger, then gently fade.

Wonderful nose, announces it's presence, without giving away too much! Nice and smooth, great linger on the tongue, and a very clean finish. There is nothing abrupt or harsh about it what so ever. I would recommend without reservation. Thanks for reading.

Just tried this whisky and would recommend it. Smooth vanilla and then warm honey finish. Very easy drinking.

Very nice whisky. First tried it a few months ago at The Malt Whisky Experience when visiting Edinburgh. Was really impressed, very creamy with some spice.

Tried it for the first time last night. Very impressed. Quite elegant and refined. Vanilla cream on the palate with a lingering spicy finish.

On first taste I poured it down the sink. But then I gave it a second chance and it repaid me! Keep the faith, let it settle for 20 minutes, no water. A rough diamond.

Very good malt with distinctive taste of biscuits and rich spices. Excellent value and bottled at 46% ABV. Love it

My favourite Scotch. Went to a Whisky tasting of about 40 bottles and this was the best. It's got 50% more Whisky flavour due to the fact that it isn't chillfiltered !!

Excellent, close your eyes and you would swear this was closer to a £100 bottle.
