Pimm'sVermouths, Aperitifs and Digestifs
Nothing typifies summer drinks like a jug of Pimm's, a firm favourite of garden parties across the UK (bolstered by the famous 'Pimm's O'Clock' slogan in its adverts). The drink was created back in the mid-1800s by oyster-bar boss James Pimm, who marketed it as a health tonic to his customers.
How to make Pimm's
The classic Pimm's cocktail recipe is one part Pimm's to three parts lemonade, with plenty of chopped fresh fruit packed in to a Pimm's jug – mint, strawberries, cucumber and orange are a safe bet. And for Pimm's Winter Cup ('No. 3'), serving it warm with cloudy apple juice works a treat.
