The Art of Cask Finishing

One of the great old Speyside single malts, The Balvenie is known for its masterful use of cask finishing. This process sees the distillery’s famously soft and honeyed whiskies undergo initial ageing in traditional oak barrels, before they are transferred to a second cask type to add additional layers of character and complexity. Through finishing, The Balvenie is able to offer different takes on its distinctive single malt including the rich and refined 21 Year Old Portwood.
