Best value there is on the bourbon shelf, I'd take this over many offerings twice the price. It has a feisty, spicy nose, dominated by pepper, clove and oak. Resinous dried fruit and fruitcake on the palate with more Christmas spices. A huge whiskey in every sense.

4 stars in terms of bourbons in general. If this were based on bourbons "for the price", it would get 6-stars. It's insanely good for the price. Amazing depth of flavor and not as hot as the proof might indicate - it packs a punch, but a pleasant one.

I was familiar with this bourbon being a bargain bourbon that was respected in quality as well as value. I didn't expect that it would be so impressive in flavor profile. I would compare it to rare and top shelf bourbons.
