A handsomely presented decanter-style bottle of Plantation Extra Old rum from Barbados. The rums are initially aged in the Caribbean in ex-bourbon casks then transported to the Charente (home of Plantation's owner, Cognac producer Pierre Ferrand) and undergoing a second maturation in small French oak casks.Tasting Notes (2)

Flambéed bananas, toasted coconut, marshmallow, and spice. Cherry and vanilla develop.
Balanced spice and oak, with black pepper, sweet cream and dark tobacco notes.
Very long, with sweet spice and toasted oak fading to reveal fruit.
Tasting Notes by Stuart P
Rich, tempting aromas of flambéed bananas, toasted coconut shavings, a touch of marshmallow and a faint grassy note. Then aromas of spices waft up through the glass – cinnamon and nutmeg – as well as juicy cherries, vanilla and toffee.
Superb balance between spice, toasty oak and a creamy, peppery note. Sweet and luxurious, but with more savoury notes of tobacco and dark chocolate, creating lovely balance. The complexity builds, with layers of spice growing over time. Beautifully soft texture.
Very long lasting, with the sweet spices complementing the toasty oak and fruit.
I would defy anyone not to enjoy this. Easy to drink, but tons of complexity, and a rum that rewards slow sipping. Excellent.

This has been my absolute favourite rum for years and I always have a bottle in for special occasions. Very sweet and flavoursome. Highly recommended.
This is with out doubt an extremely good rum. I have sampled a considerable number of caribbean rums and this is very good, particularly considering the price. Good nose, complexity in the layers with good length. You will not be dissappointed, i would buy again.
On the sweet side but it’s good value for money.
Honestly, this is one of the tastiest rums I've had the pleasure of drinking. There's a reason it's won numerous awards. I strongly recommend trying this.
Big banana and coconut, with hints of vanilla on the nose. Rich, creamy, nutty, cinnamon and spice on the tongue. Long butter toffee finish. Very enjoyable, I could sip this all day long and way into the night.
