    • Nose:

Big and peppery to start, with rye and caraway seed following. Toffee sweetness sits at the back.

    • Palate:

Intense and layered, with waves of cinnamon, clove, nutmeg, hazelnuts and mint.

    • Finish:

      Long and spicy.

  • Tasting Notes by Stuart P

    • Nose:

Big! Peppery, spicy, lots of rye and caraway seed, but still fresh, with some toffee sweetness in there, too.

    • Palate:

Beautiful concentration, with waves of spicy cinnamon, clove and nutmeg, toasted hazelnuts and a faint, fresh, minty note.

    • Finish:

The wide-ranging spiciness lasts for a very long time.

    • Comment:

This is a big-hitting bourbon, loaded with punchy spice. Absolutely delicious.

First taste of this and I wasnt sure if I liked it at all, but that flavour does grow on you. I persevered and I think I like it now.

I love the taste and smoothness, it's great served neat or on the rocks. This is a bourbon you never mix in my opinion. I have tried many different brands over the years, but always come back to this one. Great paired with a good cigar.

I have a 50-year-old bottle of Wild Turkey 101 that had never been opened. The cork fell apart but the bourbon is delicious. Very flavorful yet smooth. I pour whiskey into a glass filled with ice and let the ice melt for 15 or 20 minutes. Really tastes great!

For a peat head like me it’s the best. A stand-out, kicking bourbon – unique and complex. In past years I went through many single malts and bourbons just to discover that my preferences are for the most extreme, strong, full-flavour and unique drams. These days my top-shelf Scotch single malts are Laphroaig 10 and Lagavulin 16. From all the bourbon I've tried (some are very expensive) this kicking Turkey turned out my favorite. It’s not too rounded nor too smooth. It’s got spicy rye in plenty, kind of roasted (the distillery uses high-char barrels). The strong, pungent coastal vibe of the Scotches above converted into dump summer woodlands full of spices from the strong rye added with cinnamon and cloves, ever slightly vanilla and rounded corn – not too sweet. It’s spicy it’s bold; rich in flavours and complex as an Islay single malt. Flavuor map-wise it will turn off chart like Lap 10 and Lag 16 which is what I’m after. It’s not small batch, “modern”, in-a-fancy-shampoo-styled-bottle which I don’t care for. It’s a marvelous whiskey with plenty of bold character the way I like.

I agree with Gatekeeper, let it sit for about five minutes. The nose is beautiful, peppery with some toffee and sweet oak. On the palate, it's cinnamon, hazelnuts with a slight mint note, also almost buttery in the mouthfeel. Finish is nice and long. Easy drinking despite the alcohol content. I can see why people love this so much.

Just fell in love with this one. I prefer it neat, but here is a secret... Let it breathe for 5 or 6 minutes then take a long, satisfying sniff. It really opens it up to a fantastic nose. Leather, oak, rye spice and hazelnuts. Then, close your eyes and take a sip. Pure indulgence!

Good solid bourbon. It gives a slight burn, a good burn though. Packs a punch and a decent price to boot

Budget friendly and my absolute go-to bourbon. It burns so good and one of the best sub 30 buck whiskeys on the market. With the great spicy notes you get on this and the good whiskey burn it's hard to pass this one up. It's simply the best value bourbon and I would dare say rivals the more expensive bourbon i've tried.

Fantastic bourbon! Deceptively smooth. Delicious and straightforward. One of the finest in its class. If you haven't experienced WT 101, then get yourself a bottle and experience it yourself.

Yes, put me down as someone who really likes it. I have some in my glass right now. (Neat, the way God intended.) My uncle used to drink only Wild Turkey, and I know why.

I am a little biased because I love bourbon. But I used to only drink wild turkey on thanksgiving to be funny and it was good. But after reading up a lot on wild turkey the history of it and Jimmy Russel. It’s hard not to be my favorite drink.

My first good bourbon, and a bulls eye. I am a scotch malt drinker and this is something else, totally. However, it is as complex and interresting as a good malt. Spicy, sweet and dark. Hints of cola, jam, nutmeg, mint, tea and caramel play the nose and tongue. Very well balanced.

Bought this for my boyfriend after reading many reviews. When we first met he was a solid Jack Daniel's fan, so I purchased Single Barrel and he loved the smoothness. We then went out and he sampled some Eagle Rare 10 yr old, so I bought some of that and enjoyed it, again falling it's taste and smoothness. After looking around I noticed the Wild Turkey brand pop up in reviews, and a LOT of people love this drink for its smoothness and how surprisingly strong it is, although not over powered. As a surprise I bought this and my word, he's never looked back. It's too smooth. He simply can't put it down as it goes down a real treat, and he's said by far one of the best buys to date. With only a third left in the bottle it'll soon be time for another purchase.

Simply the best bourbon I know. Perfectly balanced between spicyness and sweetness, complex yet accessible, lots of body and great finish - and totally unapologetic: does not try to even vaguely ressemble any other spirit. If you don't like bourbon, this ain't for you. If you like bourbon, you'll find there's no need to look further: if there is anything out there at all that will top this, it comes at several times the price.
