  • Knob Creek Single Barrel Reserve 9 Year Old
Product Description

Knob Creek's first foray into the world of single barrel bottlings, bottled at a high 60% ABV. While the individual barrels, and thus bottlings, will vary slightly they are selected for a rich aged flavour, with some smoky notes joining the usual vanilla and caramel.

This particular bottle has been autographed by Jim Beam's Master Distiller, Fred Noe – a fantastic addition to any bourbon collection.

Tasting Notes

Tasting Notes

  • John Hansell, Malt Advocate

    • This is a stylish, big, broad-shouldered bourbon with a thick, sweet foundation (nutty toffee, pot still rum, maple syrup) peppered with spice (cinnamon, but also vanilla and evergreen) and dried fruit. Dry, warming, resinous finish. 94.

Customer Reviews

  • S&N

Its everything the other reviews say it is. (Althought I didn't get the Sergeant Pepper reference) Sweet and powerful and with a good burn that didn't overpower. Only problem, after comparing the two I found that I slightly prefered the more distinct vanilla flavour of the standard bottling.

  • The Dude

With the BTAC and Van Winkle line bourbons nearing impossibility to acquire and crazy black market prices, it's lovely to see the folks at Beam put out a Barrel Strength monster like this. The nose on this beast is amazing---as others have mentioned toffee, caramel, vanilla and spice. If you want a fruit-bomb-punch-in-the-face with a long finish, look no further.

Just acquired one, what a nose.it actually noses like a Mortlach, with a smooth corn sweetness.big Coca-Cola (this reminds me of Mortlachs), sergeant pepper, orangade, toffee and vanilla dominate nose. All confirmed by the palate with a very well behaved spirite burn (it is 60%!) but this burn carries with it a very nice fresh sweet oak,and carries it far into its long finish.

Brother in law brought this over to me from the states. Brilliant! Well worth the money in my opinion.

This is great. Not subtle...but great.
