Product Description
The general release of 2011's much anticipated Ardbeg Committee Release - Alligator. It's named after the high level of char on the inside of some of the casks used for maturation, which makes the wood look like alligator skin.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes by The Whisky Exchange
Nose
Vanilla ice cream, citrus, charred pineapple, cherries, pine and an initially light smokiness.
Palate
Buttery vanilla, chocolate limes, orange peel, oaky spice, and soft wood and charcoal smoke.
Finish
More citrus, ash and lingering fruit.
Tasting notes by Toby Q
This Islay-gator has a straw-amber complexion, and a nose of sweet caramel, tropical fruit and a hint of pine. I found the palate to be very different to the house style with lots of chewy oak and spicy rich ginger, caramel nougat and a long elegant finish which gave me memories of rooms layered with clouds of cigar smoke and an open fire.

Exceptionally balanced and morish dram, inspiring campfire nostalgia. Savour every drop!
I tried this Whisky 3 years ago at the Ardbeg Distillery. I immediately fell in love and have been searching high and low for a bottle since then. Just got one as a present from my better half...best present ever. It's smoke and fire like most Ardbeg's but I also find it lighter and more elegant. It's amazing and I'm thrilled to add a bottle to my collection.
best I have ever tasted
Incredible! I am a huge Ardbeg fan, but this takes it to another level even when compared with the exquisite uigeadail. I will treasure every drop of this bottle as seems to be very difficult to find... Definitely one to be kept hidden from guests or for your very nearest and dearest. I won''t attempt to go in to tasting notes, but if you are a fan of Ardbeg, this superb bottle will have you grinning from ear to ear at every sip. Can be drunk neat comfortably.
Sweet barbeque with real spice and a lingering smokiness. It's like a small battle in your mouth. A really special whisky. I remember being bemused by the luke warm reviews at the time of release. The price now proves that those reviews didn't reflect the opinions of dram consumers. I've drunk 3 bottles..I've refrained from opening the 4th. May just have a last one..
