Product Description
Introduced by Irish Distillers in 2011 as part of the relaunched range of pot still whiskies, The Barry Crockett Legacy is named for the Midleton master distiller and combines bourbon cask matured whisky with some from a new American oak barrel. A great entry into the Midleton line-up which has been showered with awards since it first appeared on the horizon.

Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes
Tasting Notes by Billy A
Nose
Spiced apples and pears, with jelly sweets, lemon juice and candied lemon peel.
Palate
Apple, pineapple, dried papaya and pears with some dried grain – a fruity trail mix combination. That leads to a wave of spice, with custard tarts, more jelly chews, and layers of fruit and cream.
Finish
Soft, stewed apple, unripe mango and more papaya. The fruit fades into gentle liquorice and sweet biscuit notes.
Comment
Tropical fruit defines this dram for me, amplifying the classic pot-still style.
Tasting Notes by Stuart P
Nose
Soft, sweet aromas of honey and vanilla, followed by rich spiciness with dried fruit and cinnamon.
Palate
Pleasing dryness on the palate, with an almost rye-like spiciness, freshened up with some clean, sweet red fruit. Complex and balanced.
Finish
Long lasting, with the spice taking hold.

My friend d. Middleton, buys and tries lots of Middletons. I find them vastly over-rated! And I think Billy A. should be embarrassed for his 'notes' to be found in the one reviewed! A little more trust in Stuart P. You will note 'they can't both be drinking the same whisky!!!'
Excellent whisky from Midleton, one of the best distilleries in the world. Smooth and complex whisky which benefits from the higher ABV of 46% compared to the hugely popular Very Rare range which is bottled at 40% ABV. For me the excellent nose beats the finish. A fitting tribute to Barry Crockett's skills.
Got it as gift. Now totally addicted. Fonished 2013 and replaced with 2019. Waiting for 2020!
The best Irish Whiskey I have had. Smooth, complex and one not to rush.
Like raiding God's liquor cabinet. Smooth as silk with a finish that goes on and on and on... Worth every penny.
