This has been my first choice whisky for many years. Always remember my Grandmother having a glass before bed and that distinctive white label always stood out in my mind.
Have i tried it OH yes all my adult life no other Whisky comes anywhere near this its the only one for me so mellow
Like some other reviewers, I have good childhood associations with this blend and cannot assume a detached reviewers' attitude. This sixtysomething uses it as a "go-to" whisky, a comfort blanket at the end of the day. It's an old-fashioned and undemanding style - one I return to again and again when the Kilchomans and the Lagavulins of this world get a bit inyerface. An old-fashioned whisky that suits this old-fashioned person admirably and deserves to be better known.
For me, it was a transportation to the early 1940's. My grandfathers bottle of scotch. The diamond shaped label impressed on my child's mind and memory. You may disregard my opinion in the true sense of attribution, at around four years of age I tasted it for the first time, all of what my grandfather unwisely left on the carpet beside his chair. My discovery the cause of great amusement! "A true wee Scot!" laughted one. So, I'm told.
