I’ve going to Portugal since 1976, Lisbon,Porto and the Algarve! I was lucky enough to introduced to this excellent Brandy by my friend , a fellow Customs Officer in Faro! Little wonder that it’s the locals favourite! Full of flavour and the benefit of oak ageing and a distinctive vanilla finish ! Now sadly not as ‘aged’ as it used to be and reduced in strength to 36* the same as all the Spanish equivalents??. We never drink any other brands such as Constantino although it is a close second! We always insist that the barman serves Maciera
I was introduced to congac by my aunt who drank nothing but the finest and brand leaders french brandy! I tasted this whilst on holiday on the Algarve, and I was converted, the sweet vanilla flavours makes this a great drink on its own or with a good mixer. First class.
Just as I remembered it. Delicious. It took me back to my favourite Portuguese bar by the Marina
