    • Nose

      Strong vanilla notes with caramel and spice. Quite cake-y (it’s a word!).

    • Palate

      Silky texture. The vanilla note is quickly subdued by strong spice but as the spice mellows out the vanilla creeps back. Quite rich, cake-y flavours. The texture becomes quite silky towards the end, very moreish. A definite keep-out-of-reach drink... Second visit, the spice is ever-present and the vanilla starts to find its footing, sticking around throughout the experience.

      Medium-short with subtle vanilla notes. Spicy towards the finish.

      Sweet and strong. Makes me want to camp out in the cake section of my local supermarket.

    Superb spiced rum. Gently surprising flavours of vanilla and ginger. As an afficionado of spices rums this is a good affordable one worth keeping for entertaining guests on summer evenings around the BBQ. You cannot truly appreciate it without chewing a few slices of biltong. It does not go with jerky at all! A great finish to the day.

    This is a beautiful sipping rum which is also delicious with coke or ginger. I was disappointed with dead mans fingers so I went out and bought this. A definite main stay in my household from now on. It smells like a thick vanilla custard but has that ginger note on the taste. Exceptional

    Far more impressive than the modest price would suggest. Has become my favourite spiced rum. Very easy to drink - probably too easy. Definitely not for mixing, it's far too good for that.
