This legendary cognac from Rémy Martin is built on more than a century of tradition. Louis XIII is a blend of up to 1,200 eaux-de-vie from Grande Champagne, some aged for as long as 100 years. It’s rich, layered and deeply complex, with notes of dried fruit, orange blossom, nutmeg, honeycomb and cigar box, and a finish that lasts for minutes.
Housed in a Baccarat crystal decanter inspired by a 16th-century flask, it’s one of the great icons of cognac – treasured by collectors and poured only to mark the most significant moments.

Nose
Very floral, with honeysuckle, and sweet, with delicately perfumed fruit – melon and peaches. There is also a hint of flowery honey and a marzipan nuttiness.
Palate
Cinnamon, almonds, peach, orange and orange blossom, and woody spice. The succinct note in my notebook simply says 'like eating twigs and sweet flowers'.
Finish
Delicate grape, sweet oak spice, melon and lingering floral notes.

Tried this 36 years ago. The “Roy Cohen” gave it to a friend for a Christmas gift. The friend and I opened it to celebrate the birth of my son. Very unfortunately, we had ZERO appreciation of what it was. We had half the bottle and admired the decanter. Smh
