From Haiti, which has one of the Caribbean’s most interesting and under-known rhum traditions, comes an exciting bottle that is available overseas for the first time. Bouvil was established in the 1850s and has operated ever since, still making Haitian rhum with wild sugar cane and indigenous yeasts.
A nose of fresh sugarcane and tropical fruit with vanilla, and peppery herbal notes. The palate is lively, with citrus, cane juice sweetness and hints of lemongrass on a smooth, medium body. Finishes cleanly after lingering sweetness and fruit notes.
